    Hi Everyone!
My family and I have been using our 2003 Coleman Sante Fe for a number of years, but after some roof damage we haven't been out in a while. I know the Coleman ABS roofs are known to have problems, but my I'm wondering if there is any real issue with cracks or if it is just cosmetic? It looks like there is fiberglass under the ABS coating, so I don't think any water can get through to the rest of camper. The roof is start to come off in big chunks, so I was think I would strip it entirely and coat with Grizzley Grip. Any thoughts or suggestions would be much appreciated!

However you do it the roof needs to be repaired. Why are you worried about cracks if big chunks are falling off?

I don't think the fiberglass in damaged, so I'm hoping I don't need to repair that. I'm thinking a needs to scrape off the ABS coating and cover the entire roof with Grizzley Grip.

If you are sure that is fiberglass under, go for it.

The interior of a Fleetwood ABS Strata roof was rigid foam, nothing else. This is a pic of my own 2000 Santa Fe after I cut in intake and output holes for a Carrier AirV A/C I installed on the camper.

To the OP - any water that leaks into your roof will eventually destroy it.

It would not make sense to me to be fiberglass.
    Read GreyFox above.

Thanks. I guess I wont' know for sure how bad the damage is until I take the ABS coating off. The top layer is in tough shape. The rest of the camper is in good shape, hopefully it can be repaired.

Strip it and re do with gg. Mine looks the same as yours, and i sware it had a fiberglass undercoating. Gray foxes didnt, but then again according to grey fox they had 2 diffrent manufactures for the abs roof. Maybe they tried to fix a prodution problem, or speed it up? I dont really know. I do know that the undercoating felt tough. And not like foam at all on mine.

Wow, that's an understatement! You might want to read through this discussion which describes how another ABS roof owner used Grizzy Grip to restore his roof to usable condition.

Never saw a roof so bad . Strip it. Seal what's underneath.
