We are planning to go to Highlands Hammock SP in Sebring, FL and would appreciate some inputs on campsite selections. We prefer sites that are somewhat secluded and some shade. We realized shaded sites are limited and we haven't been there for a few years, but it does have great trails and the museum was very interesting. Thanks!

I was there 2 years ago, nicer campground. There is not a lot of seclusion at HHSP campground. Plenty of shade though at sites 001-027, not much privacy though.

If I was going, I'd choose sites 126-138, backs up to a field and you will get morning sun but afternoon sun wont be as bad, Just an opinion.

Love the museum and tram tour of the place (if you can get tickets for the tram tour; you MUST buy tickets the morning of the tour at the ranger station and they sell out fast!)

Ok I spent the last several days. In central florida exploring a few of the state parks, Spent the day exploring Highland Hammock. Is a beautiful park, spent 3 hours walking several of the trails trough Florida Natural wildlife, saw a fox , crane, and a few small alligators. The campground itself is nice, however not one of my favorites, Campsites are more open, and not as secluded as lake Kissimmee in close bye Lake Whales, which I prefer more, just my opinion. I give it a 5/10. However. I wouldnt hesitate to return to this place. The Tram. Was operating, however chose to drive trough myself and at my convenience. Some pics are included. 3C225B14-9D6F-4F64-B444-5F7B8A9885B2.jpeg
