I just scored a set of yakima locking railrider 1 towers for a great price. They seem to be the forerunner to the current control tower/landing pad setup. Now I want to mount tracks on the outer edge of our pop up to haul bikes and maybe a luggage carrier. I'm too cheap to spend the $160 Yakima wants for their official track system and I'm wondering if anyone has found a home-brew version? I've thought about buying a .5"x1" aluminum tube and ripping out a 1/2" opening on one of the long sides on the table saw. Unfortunately I need it to flex a little due to a slight curve in the top of the pop up and the stock I found online did not appear that it would flex. Anyone have any suggestions?
