    Hm-m-m...
And here I thought that your screen name meant that you have a great affection for the country/terrain. But then I'm sure that this is true as well!

[PU] [PUT] part name, part camper model.
I have been cruising this site as a guest, reading lots of helpful hints.
I am now the owner of the 2003 Thor Industries Skamper popup my mom bought used in 2010, on my birthday. she got to use it a few times before she died in 2013. (two years ago this week, & damn I miss her so much.) Our family had a coleman popup in 1971, when we were stationed at Ft. Huachuaca, AZ. my parents used it to camp out at long distance swim meets each weekend w my brother & sister. a drunk neighbor crashed into the camper and totaled it in 1978. I managed to save the nesting aluminum pots from 1968, and stil have & use them today.

Mom & I camped in Tents from 1995 (after my dad died) until 2010 when she decided it was too hard on me to set up/tear down 2 tents each trip. (she liked her privacy and went to bed much earlier than I do. plus, I usually had my dogs with me.) so we shopped Craigslist, and looked at a lot of used popups, some in great shape, but too long for either garage, or so damaged they were not worth the asking price. We found this one, a gently used 2003 Skamper, for $3,000. the couple had camped in it maybe 4 times, it was garage kept, so it was practically new. we bought it!

I immediately made some simple modifications & upgrades, and now that I have seen the quality of work others I doing, I hope to contribute.

had great plans to do more upgrades today, but 45mph winds and dropping temps cancelled that plan.

hello. thanks for the already great advice, knowledge and I hope to become a regular contributor.

new to site, not new to camping

After years of tent camping we got a hardside because of our big dog. And it was an Aliner. Tows nicely and we are waterproof

[PU] Hi! I'm Glampingmommy! I love camping. I've been camping all my life. Grew up camping and now I'm passing on the tradition to my daughter.
I recently purchased our first popup or pup and I'm currently giving it a "glamped" up style. So that's where my name came from!!
    Happy camping!!!! [SUN] :)
