Back in the day...... well before I was married, (20 years now), all us guys had nicknames. Most of us were (are) mechanics, and that was mine. Called me Wrench most of the time. Was even on the tickets sold for my stag party.

In addition to being a science fiction fan, I’ve written sci fi short stories off and on for the last 30 some years.

Well for so many years, been known as .............., but I am retired now after 28 years in the Fire service. Loved the job, but not the headaches and lack of sleep. Retired Life is good! Camping is Better! [:D]

Being a history buff, especially the war of Northern Aggression, I took my user name from Col. John Singleton Mosby, leader of a band partisan rangers (43 Battalion 1st Virginia Cavalry) operating in northern Virginia. He had an independent command and specialized in making life miserable for Yankees in the area. Post war he was a close friend of General Grant, US Consul to Hong Kong, railroad lawyer in California and mentor of a small boy who would go on to become a relatively famous general, named Patton. One of the more influential Confederates, although pretty much unknown today.

(I looked it up...Tod Andrews played him)

We bought a 36' diesel pusher a few years ago for a family trip to Alaska. We called it Big Ass Motor Home or BAMH. BAHM was our username at RV.net. We sold that RV after the trip (we had research how much renting would cost and decided to buy used and sell it right away, which we did and broke even on). We got the RVing bug again this spring and bought a big pop up, therefore we are Big Ass Pop Up or BAPU.

Camp-n-nuts- you re apparently right, there was a series on TV about Mosby. However, it ran in 1957-58. Now, I was born in 1957, so I'll say it was a bit before my time. Good call tho....

It is my old CB radio handle. Named after a plant I like, at the time I had a Dodge van with a green interior. [8D]
