    Hi,

I see many people quoting other users. Please tell me how, just don't let anyone else know I asked. [RTM]

Hit the "Reply" button on the bottom right of the poster's post box.

You can also do a partial post by highlighting the text you want to quote, then a small "Reply" box will pop up that you can hit to reply. This may only work on a laptop or notepad. I'm not sure if it works on a smart phone.

Personally, I really don't like it when people quote the posts within the same topic. Imagine sitting around a campfire and every person repeated what the last person said.

It's definitely helpful to quote when you're trying to respond to a post from a specific user, when several other posts have been made since the post you're responding to. I also agree that it can be overused.

I think you need to connect the red wire to make it do that function.

    I agree.
I agree again, but I just couldn't resist.

Mental note: No quoting @PopUpSteve when he posts or I risk annoying him...again.

Similar question, how do you copy a user name in a reply (such as BikeNFish did with PopUpSteve)??

neighbormike, either drag and drop the user name from a previous post (like I did with your screen name) or place an "@" in front of the name. If you use the "@" symbol, a selection box will appear as you type the name once you've typed enough letters for it to recognize the name, then click on the name. I just figured that one out today.

@BikeNFish Didn't know you could drag the name. Doesn't work on a mobile. I'll stick with the @.
