We have a "Been there, done THAT" list. We keep trying to add to it. DW comes up with new stats too.
"What CGs did we experience the woods"
"How many lakes have we "PLAYED" on or in"
Lists can be fun and motivation to add to them.

Whats on your list?

BTW what is NTU, Sorry?

NTU = "New to You" ie: previously loved, or used

...and please, everyone, be judicious with your answers...this is a 'family-oriented' board

Re: how do you um "do it" in the popup with kids

After reading this topic I wanted to offer a few useful tips to stabilize your PUP when it gets a rockin!

Propane - I have noticed that when my propane tank is just below full and the PUP shakes something inside the tank makes an annoying noise as the propane sloshes around.
FIX - Keep your gas under control!

Stabilizers - When the stabilizers are brought down, there is a little wiggle in them. If they are not aligned when you put a load on them they can have a tendency to creek. Also make sure they are planted on something firm.
Fix - Keep your wiggle under control!

Grease - There are a lot of places where metal contacts other metal, without grease a lot of friction is created which in turn creates noise.
FIX - When it pops up, Lube it!

Springs - This goes along with the previous tip. If you have leaf springs under you axle they become noisy over time.
FIX - Jack up one side of your trailer until the tire is off the ground. Get some good spray lithium grease and spray it between the leaves (you might have to push down on the tire to spread the leaves). This should quiet up the noises from old springs.

Chocks - Chocks serve to keep the wheel from rolling. Some people only use chocks on on side of the tires.
FIX - Put chocks on both sides of the wheel and make sure they are firm (use force if necessary).

Tongue Jack - I think a pad or foot works better than a wheel on the tongue jack to keep it stable. The problem with mine is that the pad diameter where it meets the end of the jack is too big and it tends to wobble.
FIX - Make sure your pad is the right diameter for your jack. If you currently have this problem fill the gap with something strong such as rocks or pieces of metal.

I hope these tips help keep the PUP stable and the parents able!

Digger, You answered my question then made the "Family oriented" statement. Was that also directed at me? Did I post something noticably offending? I reread it twice and didn't see anything. I would not do that intentionally.

Shoot I think its more fun reading the creative hints and parables than the direct approach anyway.

No...that wasn't directed at you...just a general, gentle reminder to everyone.

This is a great topic (one of my favorites to read and take advice from )....everyone has been judicious in their posts...just a reminder to keep it in relatively vaugue generalities, and not specific descriptions....

Gotcha.

That question was a play on a commercial. I can see how it could get alittle too spacific. BUT, Holding back, being creative, and hiding the obvious is what this subject is all about anyway.

So fellow Fun Lovers, What on your list?

Where ever you folks camp that are out on park benches or in the bushes at night; that's where I'd like to camp.

Okay, now that the laughter has died down, the reason being that in most of California it gets dang chilly at night, and we have mosquitos by the billions. Do you guys just slap on lots of mosquito repellent and enjoy nature to it's fullest or do you wear your clothes and only expose the bare essentials? I guess I just need some suggestions on the logistics of outdoor featherless bipeds in desperate congress.

Hopefully that was vague enough to keep the question family friendly.

Been sitting here snickering over the posts...
Years ago, we'd went camping with several other couples. It was 2am when "oh darn" I needed hubby to walk me to the restroom shower area. Quicky, he noticed, "private showers, with locks". Sighhh. We were gone maybe an hour. Slept soundly, loveeee camping. Then at about 9am, here comes the park attendent. Apparently, the vents at the top of the door let out more sound than we realized. A fellow camper had apparently went to the restroom, heard us, waited until we left, followed us to our camp site, then reported us. "We", had to come clean so they wouldnt make everyone leave..lol. We could still hear our friends hooting and woohooing as we drove out of the camping grounds.

I think I might have said something like "You know, I walked up there with my husband around 2:45 and we heard the same thing. Sure hope you catch those two."

I dunno, If I were the park ranger, I think I would have made the snoop who "waited, watched and followed you to your campsite" be the one to leave. Isn't that called stalking?

Really now - do they make the deer or bears leave during rutting season? It's not like you were teenagers hiding from your parents ( are you??? LOL!) or you were doing this at 2:45 in the afternoon!

I've got to agree with Scoutermom on that one. The waited and watched and followed is ever so much creepier then a married couple trying to enjoy some alone time in the middle of the night behind a closed and locked door. Since we have yet to take our PU out I don't have much else to add other then we've managed to make due in tents so far and my DW is already discussing possibilities for the PU.

Obviously that camper that reported it had some major envy going on. If they didn't like it why did they stick around so long to follow them back to the site???

Simply get a tent for the kids to sleep in outside, then have a good time...
