Hunting Island State Park

    FYI...

    I live in Beaufort and they are planning on closing part of the park later in the year (2015) to redo the roads, electrical, and bathrooms.

    Just Pre-Registered to check in New Year's Eve.

    Anyone else from these boards going to be there?

    WE got reservations for 10 days in the middle of april!!!! whooohoooooooooo!!!!!!!!
    Sorry, I really like the park and area....

    We tent camped here in April of 2010. We were in site 46 or 47, right on the dunes before the beach. No problem with bugs at all but they can be bad further in the wooded areas.

    We loved camping here, great facilities and great campsites. The island and area is a wonderful place to explore. We walked up in the lighthouse which was pretty cool

    As others have mentioned, the raccoons are brave and quite active. At least they were when we were there. Would definitely go back though.
