That is a famous move by the dealers to sell trailers based on dry weights..
I use a basic WDH for my 5000lb rated htt. I felt too much bounce and even shredded my wires once when I did that bonehead move and decided not hooking up the bars.

I owned 2. Both were starcrafts. The main problem I found was that my feet touched the canvas on one end while my head touched the canvas on the other end. was like sleeping outdoors naked. you felt the temperature, rain , etc. I was not able to sleep so I now have a full blown TT
Mickeyrv, can you sleep in the other direction? We finally flipped our sleeping direction because I got tired of climbing over hubby to get out. Our bed was a king, so it was nice and long.
