The wickie on top I’m not familiar with. The second looks like 220e the date it was made is stamped on the bottom, late 50s early 60s. Red one is a 200a very popular again date stamped on bottom. The stove is a 502 probably one of the best single burner gas stoves. All are very reliable.

I’ll check for dates and give em a cleanup and a test fire. Thanks for the info.

I was bitten by this bug a couple years ago and I've been regretting it ever since. As someone told me, once you get sucked in there's no escape.

I'd always wanted a Coleman lantern, but could never justify spending the money for a new one. Then one afternoon, I go on Craigslist and found a 1980 220J model that I ended up buying for $10. A new generator and a couple new mantles and I was in business. I was also hooked.

Not long afterward, I found a 1960 228. Then, of course, I had to get a birthday lantern 2/58 220E, spending more money than I was able to justify before. o_O

I blame it all on the Coleman Collectors forum -- a wonderful resource chock full of great information about these lanterns. There's loads of technical information, resources for parts, and just about anything else you might want to know. There are likely guys in your area that get together from time to time to shoot the breeze, buy, sell and trade, etc. Visit at your own peril.

Then a couple weeks ago there was an auction just a few miles from the house of a collector who was liquidating.

I skipped the auction in favor of a weekend at the lake. See, I have more stuff than I know what to do with or places to put it so the last thing I need is to start collecting something else.

It's a daily struggle, but I'm fighting the good fight. Wish me luck. ;)
