I found where my wife stashed the sewing machine and learned how to thread it... and made some mini curtains to practice ... Now I have finished almost all of the curtains for the Jayco 10 !! what do you think? can you tell that the top 4 inches of the original curtains are still there? They are behind the valance.

I couldnt stand how straight across the original curtains had to be in order to close them and then to see they seemed too short from top to bottom... i corrected the problem!!

yeah, my wife and I had a deal where she would pick out the fabric ....if I made them. A deal is a deal... she wanted it cozy. In all truth, Im getting use to them... they are better than the stock blue ones [;)]

They look great! Very nice job.

Great idea to leave the tops on. We would have done that if we through about it. When we re-did our curtains we were not sure if we could sew the clips back on with our machine. We figured in worst case we would have to take the curtains to a professional or hand sew on the clips. But when finished, we were delighted that our machine was able to sew on those heavy plastic clips.

after making the first one.. I installed it and at night turned on the lights and walked outside and couldnt see through it!! SO no backing was used... but on the solid pink ones... I just made a pillow case cover sorta thing then sewed the hem line.... doubled the fabric... works great! We could double them up because the pink was $1 a yard at close out, so i bought it all... didnt know I got 40 yards! LOL

I wasnt sure I could sew through the tabs either... so two birds with one stone idea... allowed me to make them 4 inches longer and didnt break my wifes sewing machine!!

With so much fabric left over. You could redo the valances. We used the 3 times rule, making our panels 3 time as long as the bunched up valances. The only snag we had was the draw thread we put in place, was to long and would hang up. So we ended up using some elastic that we stretched when we sewed it on.

Sounds like a WIN-WIN for your wife. Not only did she get to pick out the fabric, she didn't have to sew them!

sorry but IM a "one-off" kinda guy... lol.. I can offer the original set... but they are 4 inches shorter and dont have tabs... at a very low low price... one of a kind!!!

Valances are way out of my league... ( while no one is looking, John is dropping the pink fabric in the goodwill box)

Yeah..she desearves it for putting up with me [;)] [:D]

Wow is right. If I tried to use a sewing machine I would be in the emergency room getting my fingers un sewed or reattached. [LOL]
