Does anyone have any ideas for mounting a small lcd tv or something someone has done???
Here are pictures of the flat screen I mounted, click on link.
Great mod. Couple of questions.
#1. Where does your antenna wire come in from the top?
#2. Is the electrical plug in the roof or does the cord run thru the channel and plug in else where.
Nice job on the mounting of the TV. We are looking to buy a TV w/DVD player in it, so I will be looking to mount it somewhere!
I bought a pair of the 9" headrest mounted monitors / DVD player. When bad weather struck and we were stuck in the camper, I temproraily mounted the dvd player monitor on the sliding handle of a rolling suitcase. Worked great and made it so that I could easily remove it and reinstall in the TV.
I installed a stainless steel wall plate on the outside wall near the furnace vent and routed the cable under the sink and up to the counter top just behind the sink/stove, just enough room to mount a double wall plate with 2 connections on it. Connection 1 on the wall plate is for a satellite signal coming from the dish which connects to a satellite receiver. I use channel 3 output of the receiver with a short jumper of cable coming out of the receiver to connection 2 on the wall plate which feeds signal to the TV.
Connection 2 on the wall plate is routed through the floor under the sink, attached under the pop up to the floor and comes up in the storage for the table near the door and attached to the AC electrial cord, through the AC roof support brace and to the TV. This made for a clean install and the mount is a "under the counter" mount which allows it to swivel, tilt and fold up when the top comes down. No more transporting the TV back and fourth and free's up counter space. We love it!
Here is my TV mount for a 19" flat screen:
I take the TV down and store it in the box when we pack up. I considered leaving it mounted but decided it would be safer in its box with the foam packing.
I installed an electrical outlet and cable connection below the TV behind the Gaucho seat cushion.
These are some great ideas, but where do you find the under the counter tv mounts? i have been looking and have had no luck
Bob did you cut into your frame to mount that outside box?
Drilled a 5/16 " hole thru to rum the RG6 cable
EBay, here is one for $21 with free shipping:
Bob, I like your idea, but what are the screws ancored into in the ceiling? I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, but do pop ups have wood under the ceiling material? We have a 19" flat screen and have been looking for a better way to watch TV, other than placing it on the dining room table and craning our necks to view from our bunk.
See the anchors in the first pix in my photobucket. I used the plastic version with one inch pan head screws into my ABS roof. You mounting will depend on your roof construction.
Just noticed you have a 2002 Bayside, so you also have a ABS roof. ABS skin outside, ABS skin for ceiling, foam core. You can use the same anchors I did.
THAT IS SOOOO SLICK!!!
Good job Bob. Thanks for sharing.
Ok...sorry to bump an old topic...but has anyone else put a TV in a PUC? Did it work well?
Right outside our Pup we get 3D HiDef reception. So real you can touch it
I put a 15 inch LCD flip down tv on my ceiling.... The same people mount in their vehicles ..... And its even 12 v...... And I used a 12 v DVD player too so I can boondock and still watch movies
Where did you get the vanity mate? How is it hanging from the top?
