Hi. I just bought a 2006 Starcraft 2107. I just took it out with my family for the first time this week. We loved it!! Had a blast. I love that I am now passing on a tradition that my parents passed on to me. We started easy at a local KOA, which has excellent amenities and accommodations. But our next trip will not have the full hook ups. Wish us luck. I'll post my first question in the proper forum topic. (electrical/battery)
Welcome from Iowa. I, like you, got the bug for camping with my parents. But we did it, mostly, as a way to travel across country when my military dad got orders to move. I loved it as a kid and love it more now with my own family. With our first pup we pretty much stayed off the grid without electrical hookups, AC etc. and the camp outs were always a blast. Now with the HTT we are pretty spoiled with all of the amenities, AC etc. The twelve volt battery will do pretty good as long as you don't over do it with lights, water pump and such. Be mindful and conservative and your outings off of the grid will be just as enjoyable.
