Well sort of, I love camping and love my pu, but living in the pu while working and then driving 3 hours home on my days off is getting old. I've been doing this for a month now, only 2 more weeks to go and then I close on both houses and can finally move into my new house. After working all day one begins to miss the modern convinces of your home, when living in a pu.
I posted some pics of my new house.

Nice place. I think it would depress me if my trees didn't have leaves yet at the end of May, though.
So, you're saying you are ready to sell your PU to a Portal member for an incredibly, unbelievably low price? [:D]

I'm sure Workcamping would be a little different from what we do on the weekends. Congrats on the new house.

I love my p'up and camping just as much as the next guy.....but yeah.....having to use it as a full time living quarters, having to go to work, etc....well, that just goes beyond camping. It would get old pretty darn quick.

The house is on 10 acres. Most likely the will take all the stuff in the house.

How many electric and water sites are you going to have or is it just going to be electric only sites?

DON'T LOOK LIKE YOU'LL HAVE MUCH TIME FOR CAMPING WITH A YARD THAT SIZE, BUT THEN YOU COULD GET A FEW GOATS I SUPPOSE.
CAMPING IN MY PUP IS A RELAXING TIME AWAY FROM THE HOUSE AND ALL THE BELONGINGS, NEIGHBORS AND SO ON.

Hey jthomas, where are you in Michigan? We are south of Lansing and have almost 3 acres but are surrounded by 10 acres of alfalfa and that backs up to woods. I love all the open sky while still having the view of the woods. Sure it's a bit of upkeep but worth it.

That, sir, isn't camping. As any one with military experience knows, what you are doing is residing in temporary quarters until permanent quarters become available.

Ahh the sir is a she [;)] I'm moving from the metro Detroit area to Frederic MI, which is about 10 miles south of Gaylord and about a hour south of da bridge. Funny goats are mentioned as I'm planning on getting a few. I have a special site just for Rusty....... a hand pump and a giant hamster wheel to generate electricity [:D]

I know Frederic well...home of the biggest, best burrito in the land! [;)] Love the Gaylord area. I'm in Tawas, not too far away. Good luck on the move!

Congrats on the new home. :)

We have a Niagara that has practically every convenience you could think of to have in pup along with a ton of space, and I don't think even I would want to live out of it.

BTW - Can you please tell me what site number this is and if it is full hook ups or just water & electric ??? Tks [8D]

If your looking for a post to shift your perspective, think about how much your saving by having the PU to stay in while the housing situation is being completed. Sounds like more fun now, doesn't it! [:D]

Go to a hybrid so you can hitch up and go. My hubby and I are almost at that stage where all we do is hook up and go. No packing or unpacking. Yahoo!
