Just got back from a camping trip to Lincoln State Park in southern Indiana. The park is only 5 miles from Holiday World. If you are not familiar with Holiday World it is an excellent amusement park for the family. It has an awesome water park and features three great wooden rollar coasters for the more adventuresome. The park has free unlimited softdrinks and everything in the park is very reasonable (meals average about $6 per person). It is the cleanest amusement park that I have ever visited. http://www.holidayworld.com/ The campground and amusement park is located in a rural town called Santa Claus, IN. The town features a couple of small restaurants, a subway, a grocery, and a dollar store. Very quaint. The campground is extremely clean and has many amenities. Across the street from the campground is the Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial which features a Lincoln Memorial, walking trails, and a working 1800s farm. http://www.nps.gov/libo/index.htm Here is a link to the campground: http://www.indianaoutfitters.com/lincoln.html. I would highly recommend this campground. Between the State park, National Park, and Holiday World a family could easily spend a week or two in this area and not get bored. It was an awesome trip.
