Hi all....does anyone know how far in advance Turkey Run State Park allows reservations? I tried to reserve some days in October yesterday and the reservation system told me my dates weren't valid, and said valid dates were between now until August. Do they have a 6-month window?

IN state park camping reservations are through the Central Reservation system, it has a 6 month window for all IN state parks. Just an FYI, the central reservation system both online and by phone will be down from February 8th through February 28th. They are upgrading the reservation system to be more user friendly, at least that is what they put on Facebook. Enjoy Turkey Run, we love it there, the hiking can't be beat.

Thank you! We have hiked there in the past and stayed at the cabins, but didn't camp there in the pop-up until last fall. We loved it. We plan to reserve several days during the Covered Bridge Festival in October. Glad to hear that they're updating the system.

Can anyone recommend some good sites. The DW is from that area and we plan on heading there in June. We have looked at the website but having never camped there I would love some info on some of the better sites.

My first camping trip of my life was there as a child I can still smell the canvas from our tent, do they still have a bunch of persimmon trees?

That is a nice section! For the October stay, we booked at the far end of the campground though, where there are fewer trees. We took home so many leaves last year that I think we could have reassembled a tree! Plus when it's cool outside I like to sit in the sunshine. Either way you can't really go wrong in that campground. A good way to get an idea of what site you may like is to use Google Earth and have a look at the CG from above.

This is my wifes favorite state park. It has wonderful hiking trails, nice campsites and plenty of woods and don't forget the swinging bridge.

We're going there for the 1st time this summer. Several people highly recommended it, so we thought we'd give it a try.

Where is Turkey Run State Park in IND? I live i Mi can keep thinking I need to venture down there. The past two years I've attended the Apple Festival in Kendallville but I think this year we'll go somewhere else.

I am not sure if the little town, nut I can tell you it is just outside of Crawfordsville Indiana.

It really is a great place to go. Definitely worth checking out.

Thank you! I had searched it and have it bookmarked. It looks like a great place to camp. I have it on my list of places to take my grandchildren.

We've camped there twice this "winter", most recently last weekend. It's been great! We live an hour away from Turkey Run! We've stayed on site 4 and 7 and hopefully 33 will be my next spot. I like to be somewhat close to the showers. You really can't go wrong there. Have fun and good luck!!

Yes it is in Sugar Creek In. I have camped there before. It has been years. It is South West of Crawfordsville In. I see that it is just off of HWY 41. Nice place for the family. We are going to ST Joe Peninsula State Park for a weekend in July. I just reserved it on reserveamerica.com. Cost me 53.00 for the weekend. Happy camping to all!
