My wife and our son are both playing Ingress. It's a bit different than Geocaching, as the "portals" a player needs to find are all virtual, rather than actual containers hidden that might end up getting stolen or vandalized. One of the original purposes of the game, as I understand it, was to make getting out and being active more fun.

    Any other Ingress players here?

I've been caching for years, but this looks interesting! I just downloaded the app, and was surprised all of the locations in Alaska!

Thanks for the new thing to do.

Oh man am I hooked on this big time now! I'm only a couple hundred thousand AP away from Level 9, and I joined a team on Slack... it's really fun!

    THANK YOU for the info!

It is explained to me by another user. It is more a game. It has nothing to do with finding nice places.

I personally think Ingress is lame as the game is futile.. NO ONE will ever win. Granted, no one wins in geocaching, but at least I don't have to go capture the same territory 7 times a week.

I just started playing last week.

It's not really about winning or losing. It's about adding an element of fun into getting out and being more active.
