Nice job John. I'm looking at doing the same mod in the near future.

Thanks for the video. Very informative.

Since we didn't use our H/W heater once last year, I was considering just bypassing it, taking the heater out, and doing this with the existing door. Great video!

    Nice Job!

I did this Mod a few years back. It one of the most useful Mods I did.

I had to redo the pin stripes to match.

JRClocks - do you remember where you got the cover? I like the vented portion!

I got mine from Tri State Surplus. I found them on ebay. They have an ebay store.

I did the mod a few years back, so I'm not sure if they'll have the vented door anymore.

    Hope this helps,
    JR

Nice job on the striping, jrclocks. Any cutting into the body of PUP is a little scary. But both mods looked good.

    Thanks!

Making that first cut was tough to do. I measured three times and triple checked for wires, plumbing and structure before I cut.

I did the same thing Jr I made a template out of wood to make sure of a tight fit placed it where I wanted and cut it with my scroll head jig saw with a metal blade sure makes itr easy to get the crank out for the top now days
