Installed new Domestic awning today

I installed my new awning on our 2000 Coleman Utah, with an abs roof. It says to leave the rail for the outer edge attached to awning and roll into bag, seems like a lot of weight for travel? Also had to attach two anchor points for the horizontal support, I did drill a pilot hole and coated back of the the support with silicone adheisive and installed the two screws. I guess i;m just worried about doing anything to that roof!! anyone else install an awning similar?

There wasn't a rail installed from the factory? That's odd.

Yea the rail that the bag slides into was, but had to add 2 "sockets" to accept the horizontal support poles.

I just bought a new awning, haven't installed it yet. It also has supports that attach to the roof for the rafter poles. Mine is a shademaker.

The PO installed a Dometic awning on our Utah and I've been searching high and low for the model# so I can purchase and attached the frame mounted supports (vs. the stake-out vertical poles). Do you know what model you have and where the # is lovated on the awning?
