Iron Creek CG in the Sawtooth NRA (near Stanley)

This is a small FCFS Forest Service campground with 8 sites. Four are pull-thru; the remaining are small. We chose this campground to avoid the crowds in the Redfish and Stanley Lake campgrounds. This place is really quiet.

Vegetation is mixed conifers with young lodgepole pine providing privacy between sites. Too many trees to offer much of a view. Two creeks run through the campground, and it appears that one changed course and overran some campsites at the end of the loop. The road to the campground is gravel and a bit bumpy. Plan on going slow.

Amenities: A hand pump provides drinking water; Vault toilet; dumpster.

    In 2014, $14/night.
