Is anyone else having trouble with Popup Portal speed and access?

    I am surprised I made it to this area to post. I'm having trouble accessing forums and conversations. It can take a minute + for pages to load and some selections just send me to the home page. Some times I get a JavaScript error at weird times.

    I am having no issues today and haven't for a while. But there have been times that I have had issues. I just assumed that the administrators were doing maintenance or updates to the website.

    Not seeing any thing in the logs. Let me know if you have similar issues in the future.

    Running Chrome Version 95.0.4638.69 on Inspiron 14 5000 with Windows 10 in laptop mode. When I open a post it doesn't include the right scroll bar. Resolved by refreshing page. Not an issue really but a note for future reference.

    Yes, the only way that I can like a post or post anything myself, is to first go through my email, I don't understand it.

    Sounds like browser issues. Try clearing the cache of old images. I had over 600gb in my cache a few weeks ago and that was really slowing thing up.

    Photos would be if it were a desktop computer. On an iPhone you would just clear the browser cache/history.

    This is a new laptop. Been using it about a month. Issue started after you deleted the part of my Signature that I was trying to get assistance on the acronym updates after being ignored for almost a year. Assumed you had throttled or limited my access. Nine pages of updates disappears the same day, a years worth on my part, leaving only the latest page. Speed returned to normal after that.

    I am NOT an admin at this forum, but I do this sort of work.

    Information that might be helpful.

    What operating system are you using?
    What browser are you using or are you using an app?
    Are you on a wired connection or wifi?
    Is there sufficient file system free space (I.E. on / or C:\ or whatever the case may be)?
    Is everything up to date?
    Have you run a recent virus scan?
    If on mobile, have you tried WiFi, if on WiFi have you tried mobile data?
    Have you restarted your router and modem?
    And lastly...

    Nope haven’t touched anything but did delete the offensive info in your signature after I asked you to delete it and didn’t.

    It was not offensive. It was asking you to update the acronym list, that you said you could get to at the start of last year. All my attempts to contact you was met with silence. We were in Virginia last week, got back today, and by the time I saw your request I had trouble moving around the Portal. By the time I could get to it, my Signature was already modified. Then to delete a years worth of work in retaliation, I do not understand. I do not think it was a coincidence.

    I understand poor health. I'm surrounded by parents that have heart issues, afib, defibrillator(on his 5th now), half blind, half deaf with a cochlear implant, high blood pressure, wife's father had TB last year, elderly psychotic dementia, and I probably missed a few. I asked for editing permission a year ago, so you would not be inconvenienced.

    I'll have to apologize for the the accusing you of deleting the pages of updates. I found them. We had 3 "conversations" on acronyms. One was Acronym Updates (where I was looking and where some updates are), other was Acronym Page help request (where most of the updates are), and the last one Acronym Page. We still need to resolve how to update the list.

    Copy to word or something similar, correct, repost in new thread, then report the old thread for deletion. As I said at one point, I can’t give long term editing access at the thread level, only at the board level.

    That doesn't look to be a viable option. A year ago, or more, I requested that the old "I hate Acronyms (So I made a list)" be replaced with the new "Acronym List (We use a lot of acronyms)" and that hasn't happened yet. There are still threads from 2018 that I can edit, and that hasn't crashed the Portal. You have control to directly edit, so I'll continue to add the updates and let you do the updates like you volunteered to do. If 1 or 2 updates are done a week, it will eventually catch up.
