I wonder how much of the debt was inherited from Fleetwood. Also, I would think that the new owners need to cut costs in order to stay in the market. Either they start cutting saleries or next week everyone will be unemployed! I'm sure the trailers are'nt flyin out the door nowadays!! http://community.webshots.com/user/Silvermickey 2005 Honda Ody 2002 Ford F150 Supercab 4X4 2008 Fleetwood Seapine Nights camped in '08 - 17 nights in PUP & tented 7 with Boy Scout Troop
We ordered a 2009 Westlake on February 23rd, and word today is that it will be completed on Friday and sent to our dealer that day (we are in PA). Our salesman said that production had shut down for a week or so - probably because of the labor dispute - they thought we'd have it last week. We are getting it fit-out with A/C so won't be picking it up till 3/28 - will let everyone know if there are any "issues". K&P and TREE 2009 Coleman Westlake 2003 Honda Odyssey

Both side need to talk, but the union could be out of work. the company got to make cuts it order to survive these time Ford,GM are making cuts with the union.
Fleetwood is in trouble, but not Coleman Popups as they aren't owned by Fleetwood anymore. Check out this thread that is already going... Bruce ______________ 2004 Expedition & 2000 Palomino Mustang SL-SG-FT http://www.thecampingchild.com
The Union dispute wouldn't concern me as much as the unpaid transportation invoice...large unpaid bills are often a bad sign for a company....however it could all be connected, as there is a possibility of two sides playing against the middle... The issue of how much debt came to FTCA (Blackstreet) as a result of the purchase from Fleetwood, is an interesting one...and could have much to do with the current situation. Any company that is heavily leveraged right now is struggling with the tight credit market. hmmmm..... ~Cheers~ <img src=../Images/icons/icon_smile_scooter.gif border=0 align=middle alt="Scooter"> Ðigger '04 Fleetwood Westlake (StonyBlue)/'02 Ford E-150 Nites camped: 2007-8, 2008-39, 2009-3(resvd-12)
FTCA- the owner of the old Fleetwood Folding Trailers and Coleman popups is having troubles just like every other RV manufacturer. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out if you're not working - you're now going to buy anything- much less a popup or other RV. I used to be in th RV industry- but got out before it went south. I regularly talk with people at the mfrs and its really bad in RV country Indiana. Coachmen is in trouble,Fleetwood has troubles, etc etc. I hope the New Coleman (FTCA) keeps plugging along and keeps building them.
In this economy, management and employees need to reach out to each other. If you are sitting here in northern IN, having an open plant producing product is a minor miracle. The RV industry is going to be a different landscape after this recession. The survivors will have made tough and cooperative choices involving everyone.
