Well, you can tell Fall is here. It's raining. I have the roof on it on the main body, but still need to do a lot of work. Still have to put the roof on the King end and do a little more on the full end to make them water proof. I really want to get this finished, but I'm at almost my financial end, for the time being. What I still have left to do is the expensive stuff. Wood for the table top, and roofs, a portapotty, and sealing it. I'll add more pics when I'm completely finished. The fabric on the walls is faux suede.

Good luck on your build. I also have an old popup with very bad canvas that I been thinking about converting to a hard side for about three years now. I have been scouring the net [RTM]
for ideas for a long time. The best ways, to me, seems to be ...making it foldable like an Apache or
making the top slightly larger than the bottom so when you crank it down it is still around the height of the original pup. Like This:

    A Tow Low (Vintage):

    Inside:[IMG]

    A slightly newer one from Australia..Pratline Lo-Tow:
    Up
    [IMG]

    Down

    Couple of insides:

I like this High- Low idea. You keep the original Roof and just add lightweight flaring walls that could slide over the bottom. Of course you lose the slide outs.

Europe seems to have all kinds of folding hardsides:

    Folding caravan (not trailer tent)

This video is long but shows lots of cabinets inside...lots of ideas :)
    Putting the Gobur together

You seem to be a lot like me. Sometimes I will start a project an figure it out as I go along. I have most of it planned out, but change some details as I see how it works.

Some advice... when they build houses they frame it, roof it, and make it weather tight before they do the interior. I think you need to get your bunk ends roofed and finalize the design. Is it going to still be foldable or is the roof going to be permanently up?

The rich colours on the insides look pretty snazzy. Do you have valance lighting?
I have the song "love shack" playing in my head now....

This layout is sweet! Is this the Aussie model?

I wonder what this model weighs?

I have led lights around the edges and a couple of lamps that will sit on the cabinets. I'm considering a pendulum light for over the table. I also have plans for lights in the bed sections for reading. My TV and DVD player will be ceiling mounted, and drop down when in use. The roof is done for now, but the bed ends still have water proof tarps over them. Just have to get the wood to finish them. Yeah, LOL, it's kind of like a palace inside, but the outside has been painted OD green. Lol, fool's everyone who looks at the outside as to what the inside will look like.

Oh and it's still got Coleman. On it but it's no longer a Coleman. It's now a Diane, model 2, me being model 1 and all. LOL

Trail Manor makes some really nice campers too. Those who own really seem to love them.

Talk about frustrating!!! I'm waiting almost a month now for the store to restock the fabric I used on the walls so I can finish the walls, and they STILL don't have it. I've ordered it TWICE!!! I'm about to give up and just put some other fabric on the walls and tell them to go to the devil! I'm so tired of waiting. I really don't have much left to do on the camper and can't hardly wait until I get to finish it and take it out for the first time. I got great news yesterday, when this guy and his wife called me and said they had tons of used camper stuff they were selling!!! So I'm going there first thing this morning. I hope I can find some good stuff to use on my camper.

Finished it and sold it. Now I'm looking for a new project. Bought a pontoon boat and I'm going to enclose part of that, but that won't take anything to do. I need a new project.
