I have a brand new white water hose used for "drinking" or freshwater. On the hose, going into the pup, I have my water filter. I noticed the water, and coffee, tastes like I'm drinking from a hose...like a rubber flavor.
Will that go away as the hose gets more use or can I expect my coffee to always taste like a hose?

I use one of them green spring type hoses for the city water on our pup, so far no rubbery tastes.

As for your question, no you should NOT get a rubber taste on those white drinking water hoses. You can try to sterilize the hose with a bit of bleach. Cap one end of the hose and pour the bleach in the open end, add some water then cap this end as well. To rinse just connect to water source and let the water run through it.

It also could be the lines in your pup, if they weren't sterilized properly at the factory.

You may have to run some water thru the hose before hooking up to the RV (wash out some of the newness). here is some more good info. here >Weter water everywhere

I have a real faucet on my pup sink. I just purchased a Brita on-the-faucet type filter and it works great. No taste!

You may want to put a solution of 1 Gallon of water and 2 tablespoons Clorox. And I did say Clorox not bleach. If you use another brand you will need to up the bleach that goes into the water to get the active ingredient. Trust me there is a difference. This will santitize the hose and take away any "new" taste in it.

Happy Camping!
