Our first camp out was a huge success. My 1 year old German Shepherd LOVED it. He also took over our bed [LOL] We don't camp in crowded campgrounds so having close neighbors was no problem. Our campsite was large also. Doing the camp driveway thing paid off! Since he didn't like the heater, he slept with us. He met moose, deer and had a squarl tease him at times. [LOL] We took him on daily hikes which tired him out. No bears, but did see bear scat on one of the trails. Here's some pics I hope you all enjoy.

Looks like a wonderful weekend and our dogs do seem to find ways to take over and get comfortable.

:)Thanks for sharing the pics.. Very nice.... My dog is the same way when it comes to camping. He loves it. He goes nuts when he sees us hooking the camper up.

Wonderful looking dog. Aren't they great for hiking with. Like the halti sure helps with not hurting their necks won't go back to a regular collar now except when have to be on a long tie out. Autumn holds her nose up for us to put hers on. She also goes crazy excited when we say camping.

Thank you. I love the breed and would love to have another right now. This is our third one. We tried a black lab when we lost our 2nd Shepherd but it wasn't working out for us as we love German Shepherds. So we got Col Max . This was his first camping trip and he was so happy being with us and hiking the trails checking out all the animals and smells. We are trying to go again with him as the leaves are starting to turn.

Here is a picture from our dog's first camping trip. We are lucky that he likes to hang around camp so he doesn't need a leash. This was on private property on Drummond Island, Michigan.
