We camped December 2nd and 3rd. The "Holiday Festival of Lights" was on display, running from 15 November to 31 December. $20 a car, but free with campsite. It is well done, probably running a mile or more around the park. You can stop and ride a "train" through other lit areas, unseen from the road. At the stop are kids rides, smore's to make, hot chocolate, and the obligatory Christmas ornament gift shop (not a single camper ornament. I told them they were loosing sales being next to a campground). Traffic moves well since it is two lanes in one direction. Tour buses tend to go very slow.

The campground was good. Large flat sites (we were on Site 88). Sand only, no slabs. Full hook up, high water pressure. Bath house was nice, clean, heated. Did not much like the shower layout- tiny changing area, single handle shower control, no flow control, high water pressure (I want a gentle shower, not to be pressure washed), shower head aimed at changing area, etc. At least they had 4 hooks for hanging stuff, which is minimum.

Campground staff was helpful. Suggested Smokey Oak Taproom for a decent burger and fries. Toured Folly Beach. $5 parking, walked the pier. Went to eat at Rita's, but they had hot water issues and the plumber had broke a pipe. They were cutting the water off as we walked up. Ate at Pier 101, which was good (mahi tacos - she crab soup) and on the water. Porpoises were cruising the beach that day.

Water park was closed, but is onsite and runs during the summer. We'll go back with the grandson.
