I want to thank everyone here for all the useful info. Yesterday, I bought my first tent trailer, 84 Starcraft 17 Starlite fixer upper for $250. It does require a lot of work but I think(maybe) I can handle it.

http://www.ms-photos.zoomshare.com/1.shtml/1984%20StarCraft%20Tent%20Trailer

Here's the condition:
canvas 2 small holes
roof: has leak around the air vent
stove: not sure if it works
sink: not sure if it works
power: ?? no plugs, not sure if there is battery
door: has no key and door handle comes out easily
lift: seems to go up and down fine when we did it
missing: beds, seats, and table, and not sure what else.
exterior: some (lite) damage in the fr rt corner but minor.

Overall, I think it is a great deal as I am only looking for something really basic. By the way, does anyone know how much it weights? My guess is 800lbs since I can move it around easily with my hands.

miata007, nice PUC, In Spring, I got my 1984 Starcraft 21' Starmaster for free! It looks like yours sort of, minus the blue paint! Mine needs some work too, but not as much as yours by the look of it. I haven't taken ours out yet as I needed to get a hitch installed on the and the needs some wiring done, new battery etc.

I am in Los Angeles, but will be in Sacramento for Labor Day weekend. Where are some good RV parts stores in the Sac area?

From the pictures looks like the wiring harness is different than mine. Does your have a 7 prong?
