Was in need of a good resource for all things pop up so here I am. My wife and I just re-entered the RV owner world. We bought a 1988 Coleman Columbia for $500 to use this summer. Gonna test the waters with the tents on wheels and see how we like it. Haven't had an RV since September 2010 when our 31' Pilgrim decided to play bumper boats down the San Gabriel River during the Tropical Storm Herman flooding. On a lighter note we are really exited about our purchase. The camper came with a ton of camping extras that we "chomping at the bit" to get out and use. The camper itself is about a 6.5 out of 10 in the condition but for a 26 year old I aint complaining. We're going to through it behind the excursion memorial day weekend to go to the coast for a few days. I have one fix i need help with and a secondary idea. Question 1: Best way to patch a tear (at the stitching front bunk top corner). Its about 6-8"s and slight pulls away from the stiching in a modest L shape. Question 2: Lengthening the tongue: I would like to add 4-6' to tongue for storage of other gear (cooler, chairs, bycycles, etc.) Maybe 350 -400 lbs at best. Current the the camper is a 12' from bumper to tongue. Any pros / cons. Thanks in advance for the input. I'll post some pictures of the rig soon.
