Our 96 Rockwood had several issues. When I bought it the roof was totally rotted so I rebuilt the whole roof. It was ugly but dry. Canvas had all sorts of holes I patched. Floor was wobbly, door didn't line up properly, breakers tripped all the time even with almost nothing on them, and then the lifting mechanism died. But I only had paid $1200 for it, so couldn't complain too much. Today my wife sent me an ad for a 2005 Fleetwood Allegiance 3991. It's a bit bigger than the rockwood (king beds on both ends instead of queen/double, and two couch beds). and in WAY better shape. Got it for $1200 as well, there is a bit of interior roof damage from a previous leak, the leak is fixed but a soft spot inside which I'll fix in the fall. Otherwise it's in great shape. Canvas/screens are virtually perfect, the beds slide in/out so much easier. I love that the poles for supporting the beds are built in, they just drop down. Cranking mechanism for the roof is much easier to crank. Full size door with flip down step is nice (and can easily flip up the step to lock the door for extra security). Interior is in nice shape, still has all the curtains and mattresses. There is a fridge, sink (electric pump), furnace, roof racks. The corner supports also crank down which is nice. This one has electric brakes which my old one didn't, so I'll be adding a brake controller to the caravan. Weight is only about 200 Lbs heavier by the spec sheet. I'll weigh it for real to be sure. Hopefully I can get a few hundred bucks for the old one, but either way I'm very happy.
