I was checking out Walmart.com to see what tarps they had and I stumbled upon this and just couldn't resist sharing... http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=11085053 A couple of years ago while staying at Disneyworld in the campground my DW and I saw that a camper had brought and inflated a portable hot tub and at the time just laughed...now that's roughing it! But, now this inflatable movie screen takes the cake. I can just see it now...introducing the new coleman propane powered portable movie theater popcorn machine! After all, what's a movie without popcorn? I know, I know...where's the beer
Did you notice it was out of stock? I guess Walmart cannot keep them on the shelves. Perhaps we'll see one at a CG this labor day weekend?
I think I would become nauseous watching a show on that thing on a windy evening. I can see people setting that thing up in their yards on Christmas with all the blow up Christmas characters playing re-runs of Its a Wonderful Life. Shoot me now.
"I can see people setting that thing up in their yards on Christmas with all the blow up Christmas characters playing re-runs of Its a Wonderful Life. Shoot me now. " or the Christmas Story marathon!!
Best Buy also sells an outdoor setup with the screen and projector. During football season, we would be all over that. Dawn
Yeah, I hate it when people talk during the movie too! At least in the boondocks you can put the generator farther away and enjoy the show!
If your going to bring all that crap to the campground...save your money and stay home..that way you won't have to haul and set things up...your house is already set up. You go camping to get away from all that. If I want noise I would stay home. I just don't get some people, just don't understand. Pretty soon campgrounds are going to be so full of the "electronic" world, "specialty" campgrounds will popup advertising NO ELECTRONICS allowed. Just plain and simple wilderness experience...then they'll jack the price up for that experience too, because it will be a rare thing! I'm starting to think buying a hundred acres of wilderness in the middle of Canada, and putting up an RV pad would be worth the money so I can get away from all of the fandangle world of RVers thinking they have to bring all of their "intertainment" with them. Sorry for the opinion! JJ
A friend of mine has a screen like that. He sets it up in his backyard and does "Kid's Movie Night" for his neighborhood.
Speaking of Disney, when we were down there in January, one of the Class A's had one of these set up. I just shook my head and kept walking. I like the kid movie night idea, though. I think that would be a perfect application for this.
Heck! I'm in Canada and willing to go thirdsies? fourthies? whatever with you! I camp to camp... If I wanted all the comforts of home... I would stay home! Bruce.
we normally camp simply to camp but did once bring the projector and a large white window blind for a screen. I hung it from the awning and all the kids had a "sit in" movie with campfire and jiffy pop. They loved it!!
The Cub Scout Pack we were part of had a blow up movie screen like this (15x20 feet). We used it for movie night in the gym and also to post the onging results of the Pinewood Derby. I guess if you have a group camping site this would be great to have for movies!!
