Has anyone visited either Kenlake or Damvillage state parks in Kentucky, thinking of taking a trip there from Illinois over the summer. Any advise, info about boat rentals, areas of interest, or a review of the area would be appreciated.
    Thanks

Even though we haven't done Kenlake or Damvillage - We did Lake Barkley State Resort Park back in '10 and had a fairly nice visit - The sites are nicely spaced and the bath houses are clean.

At Lake Barkley the swimming area has a nice field nearby with picnic tables and plenty of parking - it's not within walking distance, but you can set up 'camp' at a table under the trees and spend the whole day.

The only 'oddity' we've seen in KY parks are that the electric and water connections are at opposite ends of the sites requiring both a 30 amp extension cord and an additional water hose. At least that's how it has been at Lake Barkley, Kentucky Horse Park and Barren River Lake SP.

LBL is a nice area - enjoy!

Look into The Canal campground, or Hillman Ferry. They are in the northern end of the LBL. You can reserve both online. The two you mentioned are kinda old places. LBL is loaded with very cool things to do.
