We've been to Killens several times. The sites are relatively flat, packed sand, roomy, but close together. There is only 1 bathhouse for all the loops, but last month there were 2 portipotties set up outside of the A loop. I imagine they are there for the pavilion rental, but obviously anyone can use them. The loops are close together & there is a trail behind the loops to get to the bathhouse so you do not need to walk on the road to get there. If you want to be close to the playground, then the A loop would be your choice. But, it's across a field, so it's not like you can sit at your site & see the little tykes from there.

Yes, there are things to do. There is a little fishing dock right at the campground. The park has boat rentals, water park, nature center w/ ranger programs, trails for cross country & hiking, & family friendly geocaches located throughout.

In case you didn't know, DE state parks (except for Lums) are alcohol friendly, so no need to hide your adult beverage, if that is your choice.
The one downer is the dump area. There is only 1 dump station which can get a traffic jam on Sunday mornings, but also, the dumpsters are located in the dump pull off area.
