Have a couple magaritas for me.....our campground is 'dry'. When we were there for July 4th, 4 or 5 campers at a site each got busted $250 each, got tickets, and had to leave the next morning. Now they were being stupid, but I'm not taking any chances [:D]

    Have fun everybody!

We're camping at Lake Carlos in Minnesota. We were hoping it's warm enough to get in the water but the highs are only supposed to be 70 degrees so that probably won't work. I also didn't get reservations in early enough so we don't have an electric site. It might be a cold trip for us!

No camping this weekend for me. I decided many years ago to skip camping on big holiday weekends. It's far too crowded for my taste. The last time I tried it in the early '90s not only was every formal campground full, every wide spot in every national forest road was occupied. On top of that, the traffic coming back into town is horrible and can add a couple of extra hours to the drive. I sit on my deck and enjoy the quiet because all of my neighbors are stuck out on I-5.

No camping for us this weekend, but 2 days AFTER Labour Day we're going for 4 nights. Looking forward to having the campground practically to ourselves.
