Crosby, were you in the 200 loop again or did you go to one of the others?

I visited the Lake Erie NY park over Labor Day as we drove by. Realizing it was a holiday the park was jammed, small sites, cars, trucks parked everywhere and in general really crowded. While most campgrounds are crowded on holidays this was way more than I would be comfortable in. Anyone know how it is on a non holiday?
Checked the bathrooms they were well used but ok. Concerned about electrical situation also.

We were in the 500 loop, not far from the beach. Wasn't a bad site just probably not a popular area as opposed to some of the other areas.

I agree with the concern's with the electrical situation, and it's part of what made my choice is this poll so difficult. I ultimately went with Erie SP primarily due to the proximity to Niagara. But really all the choices are good ones.

Since Geneva is tied for the top spot, I did some looking for things to do within a couple of hours drive for a day trip with the kids. It looks like Cedar Point is right at 2 hours away, so if that wins the poll, we're planning to leave a couple of days early and spend two nights at the KOA just outside the park and then head to Geneva.

No matter which way this rally goes, it's going to be a good one!

Thanks, TrailManorMan, I saw some of those, but Cedar Point popped in my head, and my 7 year old has become quite the connoisseur of roller coasters, so I decided to check the distance, and it wasn't as far as I thought.

Nothing better than a coaster at Cedar Point!

I usually try to personally. Visit campgrounds before adding them. To the rally list, however added lake erie so from a reveiew from a friend. Who lives in. Western NY. This is what he texted me about the park, "camped there several times, nice c.f. with terrific sunset views, we like the sites on the outside loop, #4 and the lakeside. But these tend to book real fast. If a storms come in it could get rather rough, especially with wind. There is access to the lakeside from sites 10 or 11, I don't think you can swim there, steep cliff. But nice beach is a short drive when opened. Just electric on sites, but water faucets are throughout the loops. Good winery to visit on route 5, and in Barcolona NY is first natural gas lighthouse. To visit. Never seen shared electric unless it's in another loop we haven't stayed in" this is the only info I have at the time, maybe sombody could chime in with. More info who knows the park better than me. Sounds like a good option. But will host at whatever place. We feel is better, as stated before , not directly farmiliar with this place, so only basing off word of mouth, as we stand we are still tied, and could move to Geneva if electric concerns. As I am more than flexable, unless vote changes. Talk soon. John

I voted for Pymatuning, but would also be fine with Geneva. The power situation at Lake Erie does have me concerned.
