We're planning our first big trip for late April and are considering the Lake Hartwell area of SC. I thought narrowing it down to Lake Hartwell would make it easy to find a place, but apparently there are several CGs on the lake so now I'm totally confused. :D Anyone have suggestions of a specific campground we should look at?

    Thanks!!

I've stayed at Sadlers Creek and Paynes Creek and Tugaloo.

So far, I think Sadlers Creek was my favorite.
I've heard Conerose is the best one. We have a reservation later this summer.

Coming from Atlanta, we generally stay on the GA side near hartwell or up the tugaloo river as it's a bit closer.

Looks like Coneross doesn't open till May 1. :(

Is there a particular loop you prefer at Sadler's Creek?

We were going to stay at Sadlers Creek last summer until plans changed. DB & SIL camped there a couple of weeks ago as a get away weekend. They live 10 miles from park. I drove through the park last summer it is a nice park. The LH Dam visitors center is an interesting place to visit.
    Happy camping

Coneross and Oconee Point were our destinations for last year... loved them both, but I do not think they are open until end of May... I'm fairly certain, though, that Twin Lakes (near Clemson) is open year round for the first time ever this year (and is a nice, HUGE campground). Have fun and let us know how it goes!
