This is a primitive CG with vault toilets that are VERY well kept. In 2016, rates were $20/night. Water is from a hand pumped well, so there will be no hose to fill tanks, and there is no dump site.

But, what this place has is WOW! The falls are fabulous and you can camp about 100 feet from them. The place is mostly a tent site, and there are about 6-7 tent platforms, but two of the sites are perfect for PUPs or bigger rigs, two others work well, and the rest are tent only. This place is a popular overnighter, we were the only ones to stay more than one night.

Our site, #6, was right beside the river, and it roared. It was so loud, we never heard any of the people at the CG. But, it's a good kind of loud. It's like a white noise generator on steroids! We slept GREAT! The sites are somewhat level, and mostly back in. Here's the view from under my canopy:

You can just see a tent across the river. The falls are beautiful too:

It was such a peaceful site with plenty of space and lots of room between sites. If you get there before 3pm, you should be able to have your pick of sites. After 6pm, you might not find a spot suitable for a PUP.

So, if you are on your way to Chitina or McCarthy, it's a great place. We spent three nights, and loved it. We went to dipnet salmon in Chitina, and it's only about a 15 minute drive to Chitina from the CG. There's no services like firewood at the CG, but stuff is available in Chitina.

All in all, this is a fantastic CG!

No changes for the 2017 season. Rates are the same and it is still very clean and peaceful. CG was in good condition. I did find there are some more primitive (and it looks like free) campsites a little up the road from the CG at the Liberty Falls Trailhead. There are no toilets, but if you're self-contained or have a boondock solution, you could stay there. It's just not as nice as having the creek in your site.
