Don't have a photo at the moment...Viking 2107 is in storage.
But once it's back in the driveway, I would like to repair the thin ABS lid for the front cargo area. It's cracked in places due to the age and the torque put on it during opening.
I have tried painting on some ABS in Acetone to strengthen some areas, but that is cracking.
Does anyone have a suggestion for a coating to paint/apply over the top of the lid to stiffen/strengthen/repair cracks? I thought of bed liner coating like on my truck, but I think that would crack eventually.
Maybe a couple coats of some flexible rubber or such?
A new lid is 500$ from what I've seen.
Thanks!

The one on my Coleman was so badly damaged that i made a lid out of OSB and 1X1's. A bit heavier, but still within load range and had to move latches to accomidate the change. You may be able to get away with a couple coats of elastomeric, as it fills small cracks and flexes, depending on the size of the damage .

You could try a slurry of ABS beads and MEK.

I had some cracks on the lid of my Jayco. In addition to patching, I also reinforced the lid with some aluminum pieces that were glued to the back side of the lid (across the crack) with a two part acrylic structural adhesive - a 3M product that adheres to ABS. I has been holding up for more than 5 years now.
