Hello all, I am hoping the fine folks here can recommend a good place within 8 to 10 hours of the Nashville area for some quiet, uncrowded, peaceful, and hopefully scenic camping. No hookups required. Access to Bathrooms is really all we need... I would really appreciate help as I am working on the road and have limited time to hunt for places, and we hate crowded noisy rv parks. Thanks!

Me and the DW like Elkmont campground in the Smoky National Park. No hook ups but has rest rooms. Sites are very nice. We have been camping there twice a year a week at a time for the past 15 years. It's our favorite.

So you want people to suggest a place for you to camp somewhere within 500-600 miles of Nashville, is that correct?
Have you stayed at Cedars of Lebanon State Park?
There are great places on the Gulf only 400-450 miles from you like Topsail or Big Lagoon State Parks or Fort Pickens

If you're looking to stay fairly close, try Tailwater Campground in Scottsville Ky. It's a small, quiet campground on the Barren River. They are turning off water and electric for the season after this weekend but will allow people that don't need hookups to camp free until they reopen next spring.

596 miles to the North you can camp at The Pinery in Ontario...

Your going to get all sorts of suggestions.. In order to get decent suggestions and not half baked one like mine above, please give a direction or geographical area you want to head to..

BTW, have you stayed at Cedars of Lebanon ? We stayed there a couple years ago when we visited the Nashville area. Beautiful State Park we hope to revisit again..

Roan Mountain State Park, a terrific park in East Tennessee. It's right on the TN/NC line, and there's a ton of great places to visit right in the area. For example, the Appalachian Trail runs over the top of Roan Mtn. Banner Elk, NC is a big whitewater area in summer and snow skiing in winter. Lots of arts and crafts. Grandfather Mountain is right nearby, too. Go East!

I have been there... very nice place as I recall. Maybe I should see how busy they are.

I have never camped down in the gulf.... though we had thought about it for another trip later this year. Anywhere you know of that would still be good in November?

Sorry for the multiple replies... but thanks everyone for the suggestions. Work looks to be cutting the trip down so we are looking closer to home, some of these suggestions fit the bill. We are also thinking about finding a place with decent weather in November if anyone has thoughts.
