About 10 years ago we bought Sammy our little male chihuahua , from a couple that were mistreating him he was old then, Sammy had a good life with us and ruled the roost. He loved Mary like and was happy no matter where or what if he was with her. He loved camping if she was near. As old age finally crept in the last few months he was blind and deaf but got around really good. However age and failing health finally took it's toll last night and he passed away snuggled up beside Mary. He will be sorely missed. But we will see him again at Rainbow Bridge

It hurts so much to lose them, but I think it would hurt even more to have never had them in our lives to begin with.

    Very sorry to hear.

It's never easy when their time comes. We lost our first dog 2 years ago. Wife bought this that we have on our mantle.

We share your loss. When we lost our first camping buddy we said we couldn't find another one as great ...... and we waited to long to get our next one. We would advise not to do the same.

We feel your loss...we lost our border collie female after 18 years, I was absolutely heartbroken. I swore off getting another, but 3 months later, this little bundle of fuzz jumped into my arms at a yard sale, & we ended up bring her home. Our Bear (not so little now) is definitely our 'fur baby', she goes pretty much everywhere with us, & brings a lot of joy. I highly recommend bringing another dog into your family.

Delilah ( Sammy's running mate) is looking all over for him as are Mitzi and Pebbles. Really hard to lose the little man all 10 lbs. But I still have my buddy Pebbles and she is ready to go camping next Tuesday.

So sorry Roy. I feel your pain.

We got a German Shepard when our kids were still home. Ringo lived to be 12 before I had to put him down. It was very hard, but about a year prior Ol' Rosco came to live with us when he was about 11 months old.

Ringo showed him the ropes and taught him all the rules of the house before he left. Now, six years later Roscoe may be the best dog I've ever had. He loves to go along when we camp.

I hate to read stories like this. Just makes me want to cry. In my time I've had many dogs. Way back there was Maggie, Mathew, Windy, Rocky, Sammy, Lady, and now a big brute I call Jackson. Jackson was supposed to be a smaller dog. But something happened. Now I figure that if my tow vehicle ever breaks down, all I will have to do is hitch Jackson to the tongue of the camper and he can pull it in. LOL
