A friend in the neighborhood says he's getting about 24:1 this year compared to the typical 40:1 sap/syrup ratio for silver maples. And from what he has read single trees tend to produce more than trees out in the woods. Mostly I'm just curious. He's using a pot for deep frying turkeys and it's taking him about 6 hours to boil 7.5 gallons of sap

No... I could never live in a gated community. I know someone that does and they have to ask permission from the HOA committee any time they want to do anything to the front of the house.
This is just government. I call it "The California Effect"... ;-)

Acquired a new set of LED tail lights with their full fixtures. This became necessary when I broke the left one, snapping its license plate bracket off with my snow blower.
Acquired two more 12v receptacles along with mounting hardware and fuses. The plan is to install one near the aft bunk, and one outside near the 110VAC outlet on the door side of the trailer. I'm hoping to make the exterior one not switched; always live, to make it easier to hook up a 12v inflator roadside.
Got a new bearing grease gun and bearing grease packing cup to repack the bearings.
TO-DO: Pull off a wheel and look at the brakes to make sure they have plenty of pad left. The trailer is eight years old, and probably has between 13k and 18k miles on it, so it's time to check.

It's definitely a big cube.These Stove/Oven units are sometimes one of the more difficult items to transport due to their size. I have the Camp Chef and it's quite good but since I don't oven cook that much, I only take it with me on my Thanksgiving / Christmas trips so I can cook the turkey. Oh, and will come in handy during the coming apocalypse.![[:D]](/smileys/smile_big.gif "Big Smile [:D]")

It came with a nice carry bag and fits right inside the front storage, upright and everything. Hopefully its worth it. The wife is excited about brownies and biscuits and the like.Just a reminder to use rubber gloves when you install the LED bulbs .. I ruined one by touching it ..

Got the new camera installed today, camper comes home in one week. I think I have it set so the really bright flood light comes on when anyone is in my driveway, but the light doesn't come on if my neighbor comes and goes or we go to the hottub.

i agree with Steve. yes to camp chef stove/oven, yes its heavy! sets nicely on step scaffold.
oven can be tricky to lite. i get way better gas pressure when adapter hose is connected to accessory pole. (you do not need 2 regulators.)
anyone know how to replace the knobs? i broke one.
what i did: ( besides make list of things i gotta do!)
created logo name to be cut out of DOT TAPE. (a friend has a crikcut machine.)
decided on FireStar. to go with transformers icon.
& its also a Warrior Cat character.
started plan C to motorize bed.
now looking at using trucker ratchet straps, & 2 winch heads to be powered by 12v motor.
dont know the right hardware names to even do a parts search!
need the bar that connects to spindles on motor to turn the ratchet head to pull the straps.
(i will invent this. i will find a budget solution to my bed problem.)
looking at these parts to start. basic strap concept.

Still not nice weather to work on the travel trailer. It's supposed to be 70 later this week, but at the moment it is lightly snow, although at 34°, it's not going to stick. Spring is coming though, our plants and trees are beginning to show signs of spring, and the roadrunners are courting in my front yard.
I'm hoping to be able to uncover the trailer next weekend.
We looked through the list of standard supplies and the winter projects we made, in case we needed to buy anything right now.
In the meantime, I have a couple of small sewing projects I can do, new holders for my Inspire control (sleep apnea device) and maybe my cell phone. I want to hang them on the railing to the "nightstand", which is actually too high to reach from the bed int he trailer. (I've been using Command hooks but the placement I can get isn't very handy.) I have another wall organizer to sew, but need to get into the trailer to make some measurements so I can adjust the pattern I found.

I bought the oven, cheapo, that folds up, I think it's a Coleman, but fits ok on our eureka stove.It's definitely a big cube.

Mine got a new cover (Polypro3 from Classic Accessories). The old cover was disintegrating, but CA replaced it free under warranty (cover was 2 years old, warranty for 3 years). I also bought and installed a new spare tire cover....
What did I do today? Got a little frustrated! But its only 4 more days till we get out of storage! We bought a new Rockwood in Michigan in late August - I of course got it insured right away, but when I sold our old one , I moved the plate over to my new one. The dealer was slow to get the title to me, so I couldn't get it registered in Ohio before putting it in storage. Last week I called around and found out what I needed to do to get the title transferred and registered in Ohio. Not done yet, getting a lot of BS from BMV and other people. They told me, first go to ANY BMV, and get a VIN INSPECTION, very specifically said BMV and not a title agency, they are usually 2 separate agencies here in Ohio.
Went to our BMV and they told me I have to go to a title agency and this requires an appointment. Called the title agency today and they said it has to go to ANY BMV. When I mentioned the run around they sent me to the County Clerk of Courts Title Agency and she told me any BMV should be able to do this, but it was a precursor to having the vehicle inspected prior to a registration being generated and if I wanted to, I could do both at the same time. Got that appointment set for next Tuesday!

OMG @BillOh what a run-around. Sounds like whoever you talked to at the BMV just didn't want to get off their butt and do their job that day (or any day).

took all the lenses off outside lights and cleaned all the dirt out from sitting outside, replaced all bulbs with led's, next did a inventory of what is needed to be replaced in the inside, charged up battery's, made sure the refrigerator was going to work on propane.
