A friend in the neighborhood says he's getting about 24:1 this year compared to the typical 40:1 sap/syrup ratio for silver maples. And from what he has read single trees tend to produce more than trees out in the woods. Mostly I'm just curious. He's using a pot for deep frying turkeys and it's taking him about 6 hours to boil 7.5 gallons of sapLots of vapor, sinnce, IIRC, it takes 40 gallons of sap to produce one gallon of syrup.
Stupid ordinance. Sounds like those gated communities.Unfortunately, I had to give my PUP away this last year. :-(
I was no longer able to store it on the property because of a change in county ordinance, and the storage facilities around here are just too damned expensive. I hope to get a new one when we move to Idaho or Utah this year. California is sucking more and more every year I live here.
Nice looking place!
Yup!Is that a current pic?
No... I could never live in a gated community. I know someone that does and they have to ask permission from the HOA committee any time they want to do anything to the front of the house.Stupid ordinance. Sounds like those gated communities.
Booooo. California sucks. Just be wary of where you move there are places here in Utah that are like that also.Unfortunately, I had to give my PUP away this last year. :-(

It's definitely a big cube. These Stove/Oven units are sometimes one of the more difficult items to transport due to their size. I have the Camp Chef and it's quite good but since I don't oven cook that much, I only take it with me on my Thanksgiving / Christmas trips so I can cook the turkey. Oh, and will come in handy during the coming apocalypse.![]()
Just a reminder to use rubber gloves when you install the LED bulbs .. I ruined one by touching it ..Well just got my order in from Amazon. I picked up a new fresh water tank fill cover, a power cord cover, some LED bulbs and a locking roof latch. Will probably be a month before I can get them replaced (due to weather). Now I need to find the spray lube for the pulleys in my lift system. Open for suggestions on which type to get. Also what grease do you use for your wiffle tree? Thanks.
P.S. I WANT TO GO CAMPING! SNOW SNOW GO AWAY.
Got the new camera installed today, camper comes home in one week. I think I have it set so the really bright flood light comes on when anyone is in my driveway, but the light doesn't come on if my neighbor comes and goes or we go to the hottub.Bought a new Arlo motion sensitive camera/flood light to watch over where the camper sits in our driveway during the season - Starting to gather camping supplies in one place. Wife washed all our camping clothes and bed linens. Moved my batteries to where I will trickle charge them the day before we pick up the camper. Gathering other stuff like propane tanks and other stuff in the garage waiting for the camper's return
I bought the oven, cheapo, that folds up, I think it's a Coleman, but fits ok on our eureka stove. It's definitely a big cube.It came with a nice carry bag and fits right inside the front storage, upright and everything. Hopefully its worth it. The wife is excited about brownies and biscuits and the like.
