Go for it. We like Cunningham Falls very much. Which loop are you in? We usually do the pet loop.

We're heading up there the weekend of July 18th. We have never camped there before, but I've been there on day trips. We'll be staying at Deer Spring Branch loop.

We had a great time… there was one problem! I thought we were in the Houk area, but we were in the manor area. SO- we were not near the lake. And, we had to dive back down the mountain to our area.

That being said, we loved the Manor area. We were able to drive to the lake in under 15 mins. The sites were HUGE. We had site #9, in the manor area. It was actually a pull through site, so setting up was very easy. The bathrooms were very nice (this is a top priority for us). It looked like they had recently been re-done. All the sites appeared to be well shaded.

There is a very cool playground. The kids spent hours there.

We spent Saturday at the beach/lake. There were lost of people there, but the water was great and the kids had a blast.

Oh thanks for the good review! This is on my very long list of places to go. Hopefully we'll get there next spring.

We camped here last weekend and stayed in the electric pet loop. The park was very clean including the bathrooms but we were disappointed in the size of our site. Md. lists pictures showing each site. I must say it was very deceiving. Our campfire ring was about 6 ft from the road. On the weekend we found that this is such a popular park for day use that it was really crowded on the trails, at the falls and the beach.
