This is definitely a resort and priced as such!! It has everything from a ninja course to a splash pad and the staff is very professional. We were there for one night on their Halloween weekend and there were two downsides for me. i think both were because of the festive weekend. First I had to wait for a parade to clear before the escort could get me to my sight - the wait was at 7 to 10 minutes - not a lot of time in the grand scheme of things but with what I paid for the site I should not have to wait that long. Second, after coming back from dinner we could not get to our site because they had the street shutdown for their haunted trail. We eventually we found a work around - but again at that price.

Oh yeah a lot of campgrounds are absolutely crazy during the Halloween events . Sometimes held every weekend for the entire month of October. However the places I've been never closed roads. They may hold a parade that I will be stuck behind and I just wave right along with everyone. [;)] . Many who are camping, however are there specificly for the event so not many would be venturing out. It sure wouldn't be fun though if your not there for the festivities and just finding a place to crash for the night. Resort style campgrounds although are handy for those who are just stopping for a night or two their weekends are a madhouse especially if it's close to a holiday. Halloween being a huge money maker Campgrounds book up fast and go all out on activies to attract the crowds.

that particular Jellystone is our least favorite. we were there in our tenting days about 10 years ago, our site was an "island" (the road circled around us and we were totally out in the open and felt super exposed). it was also expensive. we have not been back and have no plans to go back.
