. This was my Dusty. He would jump in his car seat, lay down preparing for a long drive. I learned to only pack an item or two every day until the day of the trip. He never took much notice then unless one of those bags was his. Had to keep a checklist so I knew what I had already in the truck or not. Kind of nice that way as I'm not running around trying to grab things last minute but kind of done as I go about my days. It does help that my camper is pre-stocked with everything I need except food and clothes and the canopy or whatever else I may need depending on my plans.

Lots of new smells, a car ride, probably more snacks/scraps, feels like a multi-day walk, extra time with its humans....

You are close but a multi million dollar government survey says they like to meet new trees, telephone poles, fence posts, and tires. No wonder those guys are so happy all the time.

I never had that problem with the dogs. They were just a s content to sit in the cab of the motorhome for a day then go back in the house as they were to go camping.

You know that is right. Ole Nasty doesn't raise an eye if one of goes out the door buy leave with something in a bag or box the scramble for the door is on.

Our camping buddies: Stella, first picture; Cornelius, 2nd picture; and the doggie end of the camper in the 3rd. We took out the 2nd bunk mattress and use that end for storage including the crates.

The dogs are crazy about camping and know the word "camper." My daughter tested them just last week over video chat and even though the popup has been in storage for months they still exploded when she said the word.

My wife and I have two dogs that I rescued from the woods when they were just a few weeks old. One of them loves camping and the other one absolutely hates it! They're quite a pair.

My two love getting out and about. They'll hike for a long time. Only downside is that our hound mix is true to breed and very vocal. The border collie mix just wants to go. Those two love sniffing the fresh sniffs and riding in the car.

The tan (Shelby) was on only her 2nd trip and full alert whole time. The black (Wylie) on his 10th outing relaxes like a zen master.

Wylie stays up by fire with me. Shelby cuddles into bundle of cuteness. Both sleep in.

We raised our kids with 2 Boxers when they passed I cried worse than the kids. They were bad ass dogs I am talking Top Shelf, of coarse most dogs are when treated right.
My X had me buy a dog for our daughter after the last boxer passed and the X was quite the gardener. The first spring we had the lab she bought 3-4 flats of some weed she liked and was planting them as trim around one of her flower beds. I was watching a race on TV and I heard all of this commotion in the back yard and I ran out to see her chasing the lab around the yard with one of her weeds her mouth. The Lab would sit it down and when the X got close she would pick it and move it. As it turns out the lab was about 5 plants behind her pulling them up and putting them in on of her empty flats. I am laughing so hard she got even madder. She made our daughter get rid of the dog that she made me buy for her. That was the beginning of the end. I am telling you that dog had more nerve than I ever did!
