Ok, thats the topic. My familly, excluding me, get bit to hell every year. So, I steped up my arsenal this year. We have the sprays, the lotions, the candles, and tiki torches with citrallalla, coupled with the most gruesome box fan imaginable. ( its bad , it was my painting fan). I have added to this, the thermocell, hopefully this will keep our blood out of the mouths of these vampiric creatons.

I bought a Thermacell on a recommendation from a person in this group, I'm hoping it works!

I remember reading a article about bike camping in Florida .. the complaint was mosquitos .. this person claimed he applied Permethrin to his tarp and he was mosquito free .. I have not tried that .. but if I do some type of awning .. I think I'll give it a try .. ?

My whole canvas is treated with permethrin. That, the awning, the sun shade, the blankets, ...
It may be "overkill" but I am not taking chances. Blankets are because during sleep when your in your skippies, if one is on your skin it will still work

Well considering you have the ability to buy skeeter spray with high levels of Deet (up to 100%), unlike us folks further North. I'm surprised you need all that stuff in your skeeter arsenal, you sound like a guy from the Toronto area going camping in Algonquin.. And yes I've had all that plus skeeter coils in my arsenal for years.. just wish we could get sprays with higher levels of Deet..

My father owns one of those foggers that work off propane. Campground may frown on using it with other people around. Or get the canned version of it. Basically you'll create an environment where they die when they land on the areas around your camp.

Somehow the kido gets eaten alive, lol. Its bad. They get me worse then others , but my daughter is way worse then me. Idk. Its everything though. Cats had flees last year. Kido looked like a leppor with flea bites all over her. Welts and open sores on her legs. I didnt get bit at all. And we didnt have an infestation, just normal feas. They died off the cats with the flee stuff but kid was still getting bit. Finally had to fog the house. And it wasn't even bad.

Not a big fan of deet. It eats through plastics. Ive tried them all.. even that weird imr stuff.
My favorite go to is picaridin 20 percent. It might be slightly less effective than 100 percent deet, but it doesn't stain, smells good and doesn't burn on the skin.
