Well it’s been a while since I posted anything, so I thought I would share the latest mod to my Popup, a battery cut off switch. I tried to make it entertaining, this is kind of a video slideshow, hope you enjoy Ray and Utah's Page

And here I was proud when I simply installed a battery on my popup. Time to raise my standards. Well done.

Ray, that's great coverage of a fine mod!

I would offer one suggestion, though. one of your statements mentions "add a Inverter for some ac for a quiet morning coffee maker." I can't tell you how much juice this is going to suck from those batteries! Generally any load that is resistive rather than inductive draws a proportionately large load. If you're going to be boondocking, one might consider an old-style percolator over propane.

mgwerks: I think you may be right,I have a Coleman drip coffee maker that does a good job, I can use it on a built in camp stove outside the pop up, I know those Inverters suck up a lot of battery power, and the mod I had in mind would of required running some 4 ga cable about 6 or 7 feet to the inside of the pop up, I plan on installing 2 6 volt batters just for the extra AH I would have. I guess I need to get some boon docking under my belt before I get to radical <img src=../Images/icons/icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle alt="Smile">
