Yes indeed Folks It is time to start making plans and marking those calendars. October 7th through the 10th with many folks arriving DAYS earlier... This is a blast you don't want to miss... Wilkesboro Campground 700 Snyder St, Wilkesboro, NC 28697
We have always had the run of the place, just get there and grab a site... doesnt matter where your reservation is for...
Surprising. Enough, it doesent. Smell there, (for the most part). And it’s actually. Pretty entertaining to watch The brown. Water fountain ! I had a great time. My first time there, and planning. On returning! Like Darren. Said. It’s a open field, and we basically have the whole place to ourself, So once your there, fill your water tanks with clean water, and park where you like!
Ok... I had to Google it... gotta say, Cub Creek appears to be a bit “murky” Maybe.... MAYBE I could camp there... way back in the woods lol!
ok, hold on - this is on the wastewater treatment plant? Does is smell? This intrigues me but... I have many questions lol
Yes it’s on the property of the waste water treatment plant, does it smell? You may catch a occasional. Whiff , but for the most part NO, I too had some doubts, but glad I went my first time, and wouldnt. Regret to return again! I met a lot of great folks, and had a terrific time.!
All I can say is most folks always come back... year after year.... from far far away.... The property runs all the way to the river, plenty of woods, always see deer. Nice kayak run down from the dam. https://www.reserveamerica.com/explore/wilkesboro-campground/PRCG/1064550/overview Blue Jay Road is the area we use, nice flat area overlooking the lower field and brown fountain.
Oh I see they have kayak rentals close by, anything that prevents me from heaving my kayaks up onto my mini van is a +1 for me! How close is all this to water?
There is a take out right on the property, easy put in at the dam. nice easy paddle... We have not issues with getting folks dropped off....
The only smells I recall were the wonderful aromas of the non-stop cooking by the rally participants. I want to go back.
