I bought a pop up in Feb. I live in North Carolina. So the lady gave me the title and a bill of sale signed and dated. I gave her the $$. I went several weeks later to try and get a plate for it only to find out that she needed to fill out the back and have it notarized before she sold it to me. Problem is she doesnt return any phone calls or text msgs. And I tried to drive by her house which is several hours away and it looks like she has moved (house looks empty and the yard is over grown). Any idea what I can do? I need plates for it or I can't tow it on the road. Help!
I went through the same thing in nj. Call the DMV, it's a tedious process but you should be able to get it registered. Not quickly . But legal. If the PO didn't help me locate the old registration , and get the notary I would still be jumping through hoops to register it. It was the same process in nj as for a abandoned vehical. You laws may differ.
