I just need a quick stop clean campground to stop over one night on our way south. Any ideas?

    Thanks!

Are you looking for something on the highway or a 5-10 miles off OK?
Jonathan Dickinson in Hobe Sound is good.

Brevard County has three campgrounds but you have to call in reservations.

Palm Beach County has a few campgrounds also.

There are also some ACOE CGs, one in Stuart just off the I95 and another in St Lucie County. Unfortunately the Government shutdown has closed them.

    Hope that helps some.

Ditto, for Jonathon Dickinson Park in Hobe Sound. It is the best one in this area.

Jonathan Dickinson great park for a stop over in Hobe Sound. Another county park is John Prince Campground off I-95 in Lake Worth.

Thanks so much!! I'll get on reserve America and make my reservation. It looks like it isn't too far off 95.

I wonder if they lock the gates (like our SCSP's do). We may have to leave a little earlier. I am hesitant to arrive after dark (December) at a place we haven't been to.

I started out thinking we would stay in a hotel.... just for the night, but I can't find anywhere that looks good that would take my dog. I actually found 2 hotels that I would be okay with but they wanted to charge $75 -100 per for the night for the dog. Crazy. My DH said...let's camp. wwwwooooo!

Camp in the River Campground in the Jonathan Dickinson. Most sites are good and fairly secluded and you can view them on Reserve America when making your reservation. Hopefully you will be able to reserved a site as the campground can be booked solid during Florida prime camping season.
We'll going be there during Halloween weekend. It is our best CG closest to us for a quick weekend getaway.

    Kimlovescamping,
If you are coming from SC going south on 95, exit east onto SE Bridge Rd., go east toward SE Federal Hwy and turn right (south) onto SE Federal Hwy (Harry and the Natives at intersection -- good food) and JD will be a few miles down on your right. This is the best route that avoids heavy traffic and takes you directly to JD. Enjoy your trip!

Most FL SP's have an electric gate with a code system... If your arriving late just call ahead and they will give you the code. When leaving early there is an automatic motion sensor to detect your vehicle and open the gate... EZPZ... [SUN]
