    Vilinsky88,
It is possible all you need is to modify the AC unit with a soft-start device, so it can work off the generator you have now.
A soft-start is a device that takes the hard/fast AMP draw strain off the generator. When the AC's compressor kicks in there is a hard spike in the amp draw that a smaller generator can not react quickly enough to. Bigger generators or when plugged into shore power there are more AMPs in reserve, on a smaller generator might have the AMP rating for it but has to run up to meet the demand of the higher draw.

take a look that these sites for a more in-depth explanation

A 3500 will work for you if you're not reckless. If you're running the microwave (1000W/8.3A) and a toaster (1100W/9.2A), then the AC kicks on, It'll probably trip.
    A champion 3500 delivers 3200W continuous (26.7A). The Predator delivers 3000W continuous (25A).
I have a 13,500btu AC unit with a MicroAir EasyStart installed. I can start and run it on a 15A circuit. Just barely if it's the only thing.

My Honda EU2000i was not enough, so I bought a Champion 3500 dual fuel. It was too loud for us so I returned it and bought a Honda EU2200i to run in parallel. The 2 Honda's are much easier to move around than a 3500 unit. I hear good things about the Predator 3500.

A little bit of research would have made this thread unnecessary.

Check out the Predator 3500 sold at Harbor Freight stores for $799. On Consumer Reports it ranks right up there with Honda but at a fraction of the price. I purchased one this year and have been impressed with it.

I haven't needed a generator yet. But when I get one. This is the one I'm getting.
One thing to note, there's a price to be paid for that low price. You need to carefully break in the generator before putting a full load on it.

I think they are referring to the 13.5k or 15k btu roof mounted air conditioners.

After getting a new to us popup, I have been watching the Predator 3500 inverter generator. Going to wait until it goes back on sell for sub $700 and grab one.

BUT - they have to start somewhere - which should have been reading the prior threads here and elsewhere on this tired old subject.

It says you are a well known member, so are you well known for being rude to new people who ask a question YOU don't think they should have?? No one is forcing you to read this thread, skip it and move on if it bothers you so damn much

You got it all wrong. Nobody has a thousand dollars to spend on something that is unusable.
if he would have gotten the info from the AC data plate me or someone else could have helped get the right generator.
voltage, amps and maybe wattage is the info needed to make the right buying decision.
    Not opinions.

In my area, the Honda 2200i is available to rent at most of the tool rental houses and at a lot of Honda motorcycle dealerships. You could rent one for a weekend or for a day to test, or you might even be able to borrow one from a dealer to test, even if it's in their parking lot.
We have a Ryobi 2,300-Watt Super Quiet and we are able to run the Cool-Cat AC in our Rockwood A-frame.

Our AC, like most PUPs is 13,500 BTU. It pulls 17 amps on startup and nearly 15 amps running. The 2200 maxes about 18 amps. While by the numbers it will run my AC it doesn't have any power to run other stuff.
