It's not effective in campgrounds until after 11/09, but it looks like you will only be able to drink alcohol inside your RV opposed to drinking it while sitting around the campfire after this season (without putting it in a cup anyway).

Ohio has had a no alcohol policy for several years. Although the enforcement may be dependent on how gong-ho the officer is, it has been my experience that unless you are causing a disturbance you won't have a problem with having a drink or two.

    Georgia has the following policy.
    <BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana,Arial,Helvetica" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote>
Intoxicants: Consumption or use of alcoholic beverages or intoxicants is unlawful in any public-use area.<hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana,Arial,Helvetica" size=2 id=quote>

But I think that Turtle is right. As long as you are making a nuisance of yourself they are not going around checking.

You're not even allowed to bring it in to SP's in Pa. But, as you said, if you behave yourself and keep it in a plastic cup, they leave you alone.

What the no alcohol policy does for the C/G rangers/managers is in the case YOU ARE causing a disturbance they have the legal upper hand and can evict you on the spot with the sheriff right there to enforce it.

Every place I've been, public C/G's at least, is a sort of don't ask don't tell arrangement with you using much descretion. And I like this policy. I don't have any heartburn with someone having a drink or a beer and relaxing but what I do mind is having some loud, fall-down drunk disturbing the peace.

Camping + a beer + campfire= hand in hand. I think the laws should read "if you are an idiot while drunk"

Gee, I wish someone told me that before last weekend at French Creek. I really feel terrible now.

None allowed in MA SP's either, but I never have been bothered about it. Just be respectful and discreet.

Are you suggesting that you had alcohol Chris?

I won't hear such slander. You looked as sober as the Royal Guard. <img src=../Images/icons/icon_smile_sarcastic.gif border=0 align=middle alt="Sarcastic">
